Artist & Producer · San Diego, CA

Rick Magnus Rose

A farm kid from DeLand, Florida who was beatboxing beats at five, now building his own music empire in San Diego, one graveyard shift at a time.

Roots

Before Rick Magnus Rose ever touched a studio, he was a producer. Growing up on a small farm in DeLand, Florida, he spent his earliest years watching his papa take the stage at town events, singing country and rock 'n' roll with his band. At four or five years old, Magnus started answering back the only way he could: beatboxing, building rhythms out of nothing but his own voice.

That moment planted a dream that has been on his mind every single day since. Life took him many places, and every turn tested it. What never changed was the goal.

"No matter what life threw at me, I ended up on the other side with the same dream, goal, and motivation, maybe even more."

The work

Today, Magnus is an artist and producer based in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, building his career on his own terms. He works the graveyard shift, then spends his afternoons writing, producing, and running the companies he founded. Learning to protect his sleep, reshape his schedule, and stay productive around overnight work has become part of the craft, and part of the story.

The sound

His music pulls from two icons: the melody, rhythm, and showmanship of Michael Jackson, and the swagger and lyricism of Jay-Z. The result is made for moving and for replaying.

The vision

His vision is bigger than a single song: a body of work that earns him a place in music's halls of fame for his contributions to music and the culture around it, carried by the most chaotic, magnetic fandom in music. New music rolls out starting November 2026.

"This dream has been on my mind every day since I've been alive."
